Local home overtaken by post, postman and dairy owner brought in for questioning…

HP and the Sorcerer’s Stone: Chapter 3 ~ The Letters from No One

Thoughts on the chapter

  • The absurdity of a school providing a weapon for students to use on each other in order to “prepare them for later life”.
  • Uncle Vernon squeezing himself into Harry’s cupboard while Harry is also it in…
  • Dudley’s second bedroom is like the island of misfit toys.

Look Up!

Hi Musers! Happy Wednesday!

I hope your having a good week and getting outside to enjoy the spring weather. I’ve been focusing a lot the last two weeks on staying positive as I recently lost my job. A job working at a place that I loved and will probably never be lucky enough to find something similar again. But you know what has been helping me…I’ve decided to look up more. That’s right, sometimes it’s as simple as looking up and seeing the beauty and wonder that surrounds you.

Reptile house keeper committed, invisible nephew named prime suspect…

HP and the Sorcerer’s Stone: Chapter 2 ~ The Vanishing Glass

Thoughts on the chapter

  • Dudley wore bonnets…this just made me giggle. I know all babies used to be dressed in bonnets (myself included) but it still makes me giggle that bonnets used to be a fashion statement.
  • How often does Harry have the motorcycle dream? It’s mentioned as being recurring so I wonder if the dream is occurring more frequently than it used to. Like it’s building up because Harry is getting stronger in his magic or…because dark forces are also getting stronger.
  • It’s a little surprising to me that at the age of 11 Dudley can’t do basic addition. Seems a tad unrealistic.
  • There is a much clearer image of Harry being almost balded except for his bangs. I had always just glossed over this before but seriously…try to picture it.

A perfectly un-normal day for a perfectly normal family…

HP and the Sorcerer’s Stone: Chapter 1 ~ The Boy Who Lived

Thoughts on the chapter

  • Holly 50’s family batman! The costuming in the movie definitely played on this idea but the language she uses in the book to describe the Dursleys really makes it stand out. Old-fashioned dynamics, old-fashioned clothing, beyond judgmental of non-traditional people.
  • If the magical community is so worried about secrecy why didn’t they immediately put a stop to all of the owl correspondence? Obviously they were celebrating, who could blame them, but I feel like someone should have stepped in and been like “Okay people, enough with the bloody owls”.
  • Wondering if the newscaster is secretly a wizard. The comment about him “allowing” himself a grin before he says “Most Mysterious.”…makes me wonder.

Ear Candy Confessions

Hey Musers!

Happy Wednesday 😁

For what feels like ages we’ve had nothing but crappy, wishy-washy weather were I live. Spring kept teasing us and then…Oh, no…no that’s winter again. Spring has finally arrived though and it’s been a great treat seeing what kinds of flowers are popping up around our new house.

So while it’s been nice out and all I’ve been stuck inside with a flu/head cold combo 😒. The upside is I started listening to some new podcasts. One of them goes deep diving into a lesser known passion of mine…fashion history.

Peaceful Living Tip of the Week

Good morning Musers!

I thought I would start the week off with a little reminder of how important it is to take care of oneself. I just spent the majority of last week sick and pretty much doing nothing. Fun for a day but after the third day I started to go stir crazy.
